Susheela

My name is Susheela Vatte, and my life's journey has been a rollercoaster of challenges and blessings. As an orphan child, I experienced the harsh realities of life from a very young age. Losing my mother when I was just five years old was a devastating blow, and with a father who couldn't take care of us due to his alcohol addiction, my siblings and I were left to fend for ourselves.

One of my elder sisters got married, and I was sent to her house to assist with her newborn baby. However, the treatment I received there was far from loving. At the tender age of eight, I was expected to cook for myself and faced neglect. Realizing the dire circumstances, my father decided to send me to my aunt's house. It was during this tumultuous time that I stumbled upon a camp dedicated to providing education and support to children below 14 years old. The camp became a beacon of hope for me, teaching me the fundamentals and nurturing my potential.

With the camp's guidance, I secured a seat in the "Social Welfare School," where I completed my schooling. Unfortunately, my relatives did not support my pursuit of higher education, and the passing of my father due to tuberculosis further deepened my sense of loss. Determined to forge my own path, I sought help from a compassionate pastor, who directed me to the "Cherish Foundation."

At Cherish Foundation, my life took a transformative turn. Here, I not only completed my B.Tech but also had the opportunity to study in an English Medium College. Surrounded by a loving and nurturing family, I lacked nothing. I was blessed with a caring and devoted father figure, who ensured our well-being. In Cherish, I found a sense of belonging and support that I had longed for throughout my childhood.

Today, I proudly stand as the eldest daughter of the Cherish Family. With a heart filled with gratitude, I currently work as a teacher in a reputed school  I am determined to support my Cherish Family until my last breath, for they have given me so much.

In November 2020, by the grace of God and with your blessings, I embarked on a new chapter of my life. I married Praveen Kumar, a man who cherishes and loves me unconditionally. Our union was blessed with a beautiful baby girl whom we named Manya Faith. She is the epitome of the love and joy that fills our lives.

Looking back, it is astounding to see the transformation my life has undergone. From a vulnerable orphan child to a happily married woman and mother, I owe it all to the Cherish Foundation and the unwavering support I received. Today, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities and love that have shaped my life, and I am determined to pay it forward by helping others in need, just as I was once helped.
