For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Isaiah 9:6

Dear Brother/Sister,

Season’s greetings from Cherish Foundation. On the auspicious and festive days of Christmas, we remember with gratitude for your utmost encouragement to cherish home. We have a great honor to send you our sincere thanks for your  help and support, especially during these last three months when we have gone through so many difficulties with health issues of cherish children.

~ I praise God for His grace upon Mounika (7 years) the youngest girl at cherish home, when a poisonous snake bit her on 7th September 2012.  Within 20 minutes of the bite she was rushed to hospital for treatment.  As it is a highly poisonous snake she suffered a lot.  She was on the ventilators for 72 hours.  I thank God for His healing touch upon Mounika, by his grace she survived.   I remain grateful to our friends for their visit, prayer and support as we together endured Mounika's suffering.  Now she is well and back in school.

~ Esther (13 years girl) had successful eye surgery in the month of October at LV. Prasad eye institute, Hyderbad.  Before coming to cherish home she lost an eye while playing when she was 8 years old.  In August, we sought advice.  The doctors recommended removal of the eye and cosmetic replacement with a matching ceramic one.  She was operated on September 27th and  measured her for the replacement eye on 9th November 2012.

~ In the month of November, one day we received a phone call from school and informed that one of our child Mamatha(14 yrs Girl) was vomiting blood.  Immediately we rushed her to hospital.  All the necessary medical investigations were done and the results were normal.  She has recouped completely and though remains under the medication.  Please remember Mamatha in your daily prayers.

~ Due to weather changes many of the children have succumbed to the flu.  With God's grace all have recovered.

~ Anjali (11 years girl) was diagnosed with Typhoid and she is under the special care by doctor and our staff members.  She is going to school regularly and despite her illness stood in first position in her academics.

~ After the snake incident and with one of our beloved friend's support, we invited volunteers from Hyderabad snake society; they are associated with Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad.  They came to the orphanage and provided professional guidance for ways to prevent the snakes from entering the premises.  In accordance with their suggestions we have some repairs to our building's concrete floors, fencing, and doors.  Additionally we cleaned away some of the bushes and sprayed the surrounding space with snake repellant.   All of this, the repairs and medical expenses are possible because of our beloved friends.  Still some of the work remains.  Please keep this need in your thoughts and prayers.

~ The many medical issues in the past three months have us considering medical insurance for all the cherish children.  There is a need of more than one lakh rupees to insure all the children.  Please keep this issue in your prayer and encourage with your support.

~ The children finished their Unit tests and Quarterly exams successfully and many of them received good marks.  We have taken some of the remedial actions for the children who under-performed and hope for improved results in the coming days.

~ We request you to remember the special needs for Christmas at  Cherish Home.

~ On behalf of our children and co-ordinators we would like to dedicate our acknowledgment to you and your family and wish you a marry Christmas.
